Gilgamesh Society is pleased to invite you to its next lecture entitled "The political Islam In the Post-Arab Spring: Have we entered the era of necro-Islamism?” which will be delivered by Dr. Wael Saleh To what extent can we say that Islamist, increasingly questioned, face indications of the failure of their ideology? They were either unprecedentedly involved in extremism and violence (the case of Egypt) or, on the contrary, they ostensibly abandoned all or most of the founding ideas of their Islamism (the case of Tunisia), after the disastrous repercussions of the so-called "Arab Spring" on them. What are the other indicators of the failure of that ideology or do they indicate that their failure is inevitable? This seminar will attempt to answer these questions. Short biography of the speaker Wael Saleh holds a Ph.D. in Applied Human Sciences (Political Science and Islamic Studies) from the University of Montreal and is an Associate Lecturer at the Institute of International Studies at the University of Quebec in Montreal. He is also the Co-founder and director of the Institute for Post-Arab Spring Studies.
