Les syriens se trouvent, aujourd’hui, dans un chaos sans précédent, découvrant leur fragilité et leurs divisions. Ils sont en train de réaliser leur grande susceptibilité d’être la chaire à canon dans le bucher de la guerre civile qui les range, corps et âmes. Un bucher qui a attiré à son feu des individus des quatre coins du monde. La catastrophe syrienne démolie l’histoire, la civilisation, les valeurs, les religions et nationalités d’une des plus ancienne personnalité jamais connue de l’histoire de l’humanité. Ceci dit, est-il logique et légitime maintenant pour les syriens de réexaminer, en profondeur, la question de leur propre identité ? Il fait grand plaisir à la société Gilgamesh de présenter la conférence Syrie et syriens… question d’identité Qui va être donnée par M. Nizar Salloum Brève biographie : Ecrivain et chercheur d’origine syrienne, ces premiers œuvres ont vu le jour au début des années 1970. Il a écrit dans la plupart des journaux de Beyrouth, Damas et plusieurs autres journaux à Amman et aux ÉAU ainsi que dans certains périodiques arabes de Paris et de Londres. Il a pratiqué le journalisme et a occupé le poste de rédacteur en chef dans plusieurs revues comme « Fikr-pensée » et « Thakafé-culture » à Beyrouth. Conférancier dans plusieurs colloques traitant principalement de la Syrie et de la question syrienne. A kind of chaos that clearly revealed their fragile and fractured Unity, and lay bare their sectarian and ethnic divisions, and fragmentation, it has reproduced them as fuel for a holocaust that devour their very existence and their future at the same time. A holocaust that attracted not only people from all over the world, it has also attracted countries and major world powers armies and strategies to fight against each other. Why not the Syrian chaos as devastating as it has targeted the core Syrian people culture and history; it has destroyed the social fabric, religious and ethnic harmony values. Destructive chaotic waves that bear the elements of eliminating the first ever Social Fabric existed in human history. With suck a tragic state, wouldn’t be logical and essential for the Syrian people, and for the sake of safeguarding their very existence, to start earnestly discussing their Identity issue on all fronts? The Identity issue for the Syrians now is to be honest with oneself and confront the matter with the difficult and strategic destiny questions. Gilgamesh Society is pleased to present lecture on Syria and the Syrian People - Research on Identity Issue Mr. Nezar Salloum will present the lecture. Mr. Salloum is a Syrian researcher and author. His publications started to appear in many culture and literary journals since the seventies of last century. He has written in many of the major journals in Beirut and Damascus, also his articles published in the United Arab Emirates and Oman and in some of the migrated Arabic journals in Paris and London. He worked as journalist and was chief editor for many cultural and literary magazines such as "Fiker" and "Thaqafa" in Beirut. His is a lecturer and participant in many intellectual conferences. His main focus and research is on the Syrian issue.
